| Failure
Is Not Final; Nor Is It Fatal |
Failure Is Not Final; Nor Is It Fatal by Joe
Saragusa $4.95 | Joe
Saragusa $4.95 We often consider ourselves failures when
we fail. However, failure isn't the end but the means to a success. Joe Saragusa,
senior pastor of Celebrate Church in Celebration, Florida, explains the significance
of failure in our lives... and why failure is an important step toward success.
Excerpt from the book: Let's take a look at the life of Eve. She had
every earthly reason to feel like a total failure. But if she could speak
to us right now, she would tell us, "Failure is not final."
In Hebrews 12:1, which has become our church's theme scripture, we read, "Therefore,
since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses up in the stadium of
heaven, to the life of faith let us strip off every weight that slows us down,
especially the sin that will so easily hinder our progress, and let us run with
endurance the race that God has set before us." What we can learn
from Eve? Failure is not final. Nor is failure fatal. If you want to read
about the life of Eve - the Eve that was created from Adam and first existed in
the Garden of Eden at the beginning of time -look in Genesis 4 and 5.
Let me offer just a little biography of her life before she steps up to speak
to us. Eve entered a life free from pain, heartache and sin. But obeying became
a struggle for her. Why? We don't know. We only know that she made a
really big mistake because she was deceived. She influenced Adam, and the consequences
of her failure plague people even today. She lost a life of paradise
and entered into a hostile environment. Yet her subsequent life demonstrated her
ability to recover from failure and to move forward. While the Bible doesn't mention
her parenting skills, she did share with her children that they should obey God.
And the Bible records how they responded. One responded properly to God, and the
other one didn't. The result? Eve was the first mother to endure a murdered
son. Eve refused to let her pain serve as an excuse to stop serving God or
to even question Him. Nor did she allow a root of bitterness to develop in her
life. In fact, God gave her another son, Seth. His name was an expression of gratitude
for the new son God had given her. In Eve we can see the life of a strong
leader. So, what characteristic did she possess that gave her this status? She
was willing to accept the consequences of her choices and yet communicate that
failure is not final, nor is it fatal. Yes, she failed big time. ISBN
